A new publication from GenderInSITE, with a focus on Africa and Latin America, reports on how the use of digital technologies is not gender neutral. More attention is needed towards women’s appropriation of digital technologies for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a reduction of gender inequalities.

This project investigates the gender gap in STEM disciplines from different angles, globally and across disciplines. The report includes: i) the results of a global survey of over 32,000 scientists; (ii) an investigation of the effect of gender in millions of scientific publications; and (iii) a compilation of best-practice initiatives that address the gender gap in STEM.
